Chapter 5 I seem to see

milton's poetry 约翰·弥尔顿 195Words 2018-03-20
I seem to see my holy bride Pale and faint, returning from death's hands, As if taken back by the great son of Zeus— Arctis came to see the happy husband. My bride is redeemed according to ancient ways, Washed away the filth of the childbed by the purification sacrifice, as i'm sure i'll have another chance Saw her in heaven, clear and free, She comes in a white robe, pure as her heart She wears a veil, but my vision of fantasy Seeing her light of love, sweet and kind, There is no other face with greater joy. But the moment she wanted to hug me, I woke up She disappears, and the day brings me back to the night.
